On September 17, 1995, the Ukrainian Union Conference decided to establish an institute for the education of young people in the town of Bucha, Kyiv region.
The Theological Seminary was registered with the authorities.
Anatolii Stepanovych Zhalovaha was elected rector.
On August 31, 1996, a plot of land was purchased in the Kyiv region that had previously been used as a land for the children’s pioneer camp.
The work began with the reconstruction of buildings and preparation of documentation for the future institute.
On February 25, 1999, the Ukrainian institute of arts and sciences was registered as the first Christian higher education institution in Ukraine to be accredited by the state.
The Adventist Accreditation Association for Higher Education (AAA) approved the international accreditation of UGI.
Since October 1999, enrollment in the first licensed programs was launched: “Finance,” “Management,” and “Philology (English and German).”
A new specialty in “Marketing” was launched.
A theological faculty from the Zaoksky Theological Seminary was opened in Bucha, offering full-time theological education.
The UGI team has been awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth, and Sports of Ukraine for the success in organizing the educational and upbringing process.
A new specialty in “Philosophy (Religious Studies)” was launched.
In January 2006, a new girls’ dormitory with 240 places was completed and put into operation.
A mini-research center for the works of E. White was opened.
The educational institution underwent reorganization: the Theological Seminary and the Ukrainian institute of arts and sciences merged into one educational center, which was named the Ukrainian Adventist Center for Higher Education (UACHE).
Intensive music courses for choir directors, vocalists, and accompanists were launched.
In the spring of 2011, the construction of a multifunctional complex with 2,000 seats and a gymnasium was completed.
The UGI ranks 6th among private educational institutions in Ukraine.
A new program in “Journalism” was launched.
Two new specialties were launched: “Physical Education” and “Economic Cybernetics.”
The Association of UGI and UATI Alumni was established.
An official visit by the rector of Andrews University (USA), Andrea Laxton, took place at UACHE.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed and the implementation of a joint master’s program, “MA in Religion.”
A contract was signed with Andrews University for the implementation of a master’s program, “MA in International Development.”
The educational program “Psychology” received a license to provide educational services in the specialty 053 “Psychology” at the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education (with the possibility of training foreigners and stateless persons).
The educational program “Design” received a license to provide educational services in the specialty 022 “Design”.
A training session in the format of “Trial External Independent Evaluation 2018” was held.
Enrollment is now open for the new program “Primary Education.”
The program in “Rehabilitation and Massage” was launched.
