On September 17, 1995, the UCC decided to establish an institute for the education of young people in the village of Bucha, Kyiv Region. The Theological Seminary was registered with the authorities. Anatoliy Stepanovych Zhalovaha was elected Rector.
On August 31, 1996, a plot of land formerly used as a children’s pioneer camp was purchased in the Kyiv region. Work began on the reconstruction of buildings and preparation of documentation for the future institute.
On February 25, 1999, the Ukrainian Humanities Institute was registered as the first Christian institution of higher education in Ukraine accredited by the state.
The Adventist Accreditation Association for Higher Education (AAA) has approved the international accreditation of UHI.
Since October 1999, the first licensed programs have been recruited: “Finance”, “Management”, “Philology (English and German)”.
A new specialty “Marketing” has been opened.
A theological faculty from the Zaoksky Theological Seminary was opened in Bucha, offering full-time theological education.
The UHI team was awarded the Diploma of the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine for the success of the organization of the educational process.
A new specialty “Philosophy (Religious Studies)” was opened.
In January 2006, a new dormitory for girls with 240 seats was completed and put into operation.
A mini-center for the study of E. White’s works was opened.
The school was reorganized: the Theological Seminary and the Ukrainian Humanities Institute merged into one educational center, which was renamed the Ukrainian Adventist Center for Higher Education (UACVO).
Intensive music courses for choir regents, vocalists and accompanists have opened.
In the spring of 2011, construction was completed and a 2,000-seat multifunctional complex and gym were dedicated.
UGI ranks 6th in the ranking of private educational institutions in Ukraine.
A new program “Journalism” opens.
Two new programs are opening: “Physical Education” and “Economic Cybernetics”.
The Association of UGI and UATI Alumni was organized.
The official visit of the rector of the University named after Andrews (USA), Andrea Laxton, at UACVO.
A cooperation agreement (MOU) and a joint MA in Religion master’s program have been signed.
An agreement has been signed with Andrews University and the MA in International Development master’s program.
Educational program “Psychology” – received a license to provide educational services in the specialty 053 Psychology The first (bachelor’s) level of higher education (with the possibility of training foreigners and stateless persons).
Recruitment for the new program “Primary Education” opens.
